MD Milne Backing Remain
Tuesday, 21st Jun 2016 19:15

Town managing director Ian Milne says he is backing the Remain campaign in Thursday’s EU referendum.

Speaking to Ipswich Stronger in Europe, he said: “I believe that Britain is stronger in the EU. The main reason is that Britain’s finance sector is intimately linked with Europe and London dominates several European financial markets.

“I really don’t want to take the risk of London losing its position of one of the world’s top financial sectors.”

Many intelligent posts again ... !!! Why am I not surprised ?

No time for the 'outers' to be smug - if the result is 'out' should we all wait and see what happens to jobs, value of the £, etc; etc; etc; before being so clever.

The sting in the behind may just be extremely PAINFUL - for ALL. Let's see shall we ???

HARRY S-H .......... haven't always agreed with your posts for sure - but an absolute pleasure to agree on this topic.

Makes you wonder what's in the thinking of some of these people .......... !!! ....... but that's democracy, and all I can say is please God Help Us. We certainly need it.

Bluesboy1981 I'm glad we have found some common ground! I'm sure we'll be back to opposing views soon ;) good to see even those with odd footballing views still have the sense to do what's right for the country!

The same can't be said for these leave comments, safe to say if the final decision is out I'm off to Canada!

ipswichbusiness.
It's actually £8.5bn, just 1% of govt spending.
A drop in the ocean compared to the lost revenues resulting from loss of trade with Europe and a small price to pay for an inclusive, supportive, vibrant and connected society.

HarryS,you started all this debating,so when people give you there point of view you throw your rattle out of the pram.Get real, nobody has any real idea what the outcome will be if we leave or remain. It's all guess work my friend so settle down.as long as you have voted for what you believe in then that's fine.

Gcon; I disagree with you over the number (I note that all pro-EU people are desperate to play it down!), but even if you're right then £8.5 billion is an awful lot of money that could be put to much better use.

Also, we can still trade with Europe without being part of the EU. Having an open and tolerant society is lovely, but has nothing to do with the EU.

HarryS - If the vote is out - the people who voted such will get what they deserve.

Problem being they take the rest of us down with them.
