Despite the lowly league position Town could still find themselves in Europe through the Fair Play League. The Blues are currently fourth with the three sides above them all likely to make Europe through other routes.

Ahead of the Blues are Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle, all likely to qualify through the Champions' League or an automatic UEFA Cup place.

As reported earlier in the season the side top of the best-behaved league in Europe will get an automatic UEFA Cup place with two more leagues, which have scored a UEFA Fair Play Quotient of above eight, getting places drawn from a hat.

Currently it appears that the English Premier League will go into this draw with Town the recipients of a second European place in two years. The chance of being drawn is rated at eight-to-one.
