On-loan Town striker Richard Naylor says he wants to remain at Barnsley. The Tykes were relegated to the Second Division yesterday, but Naylor seems very keen on life at Oakwell. The Leeds-born player was speaking about his future in the Barnsley's programme yesterday.

Naylor, yet to score since moving back to Yorkshire, will return to Portman Road after Barnsley's final game of the season against Wimbledon next Sunday.

The 25-year-old says of his future: "I am only on loan but I think I would like to stay here. The facilities are excellent, the people of Barnsley are really great and the potential for the club is high. Overall I'm very impressed.

"I am living in Barnsley at the moment and my family are up here supporting me. My little girl, Jessica, who is just one, and partner Carly are the most important people in my life.

"After the Wimbledon game it's all systems go to get my marriage to Carly organised. Carly is 27 and we're very happy together. We're planning to wed in Ipswich and then go on a relaxing honeymoon. Of course, we'll be taking Jessica."

If Town remain in the Premiership then it is unlikely that George Burley will want to hang on to Naylor. If they go down then whether he is required may depend on who leaves in the expected exodus.

Ironically Naylor's finest game for Town was the play-off final at Wembley against Barnsley when he came on as sub and played a pivotal role in Town's 4-2 victory.
