U23s at Watford
Monday, 31st Oct 2016 11:44

Josh Emmanuel, Paul Digby, Andre Dozzell and Adam McDonnell will be in a young U23s side taking on Watford at Vicarage Road this afternoon (KO 2pm).

Gerard Nash’s team will be looking to get back to winning ways after last week’s disappointing 1-0 home loss to Cardiff and a 2-2 draw at Colchester the previous week.

The Blues second string are also in action at Portman Road on Friday in their second Premier League Cup group game against West Brom, having been defeated 3-0 by Liverpool in their first (KO 7pm).

Based on what I saw of Emmanuel at Newcastle the lad really needs to be playing. Sure Chambers may be an experienced player etc and we do have quite a young line up, however I feel he's the one suffering and he could be a Premier League player in a couple of years if he's allowed to develop.

Phil. I tang Watford and they said this is a Behind Closed Doors match. Is this so?

Sorry, only just seen this. If they say it is then I assume it is, although nothing on their Twitter or website to suggest that's he case and I believe clubs are obliged to admit fans to Professional Development League games.

Actually, come to think of it, I seem to recall a previous game at their training ground being behind closed doors, which I think is allowed if they seek permission. I wonder whether the person you spoke to was under the impression it was there rather than at Vicarage Road.

Not sure. I just asked where I would be sitting and she said it wasn't open to the public. I wasn't going to risk turning up after that.
