Darren Bent scored the England U19s goal as they drew 1-1 in Lithuania last night in the first leg of their European U19 Championship - Intermediate Round play-off game.

Bent, playing only his second game for the U19s, struck after 33 minutes. That takes his total to three, after scoring twice in his debut against Germany at Portman Road in February.

Lithuania's equaliser was scored by Edgaras Cesnauskis on 83.

Town midfielder Matt Bloomfield was in the squad but was an unused sub.

The U19s play the second leg at Nottingham Forest's City Ground on Sunday (KO 3pm) not Pride Park as reported elsewhere yesterday.

England side: Lee Grant, Justin Hoyte, Ryan Garry (Leon Hilton, 73), John Welsh, Glen Johnson, Ben Clark, Michael Chopra, Gary O'Neil, Darren Bent, Stephen Cooke (Davis Fox, 71), Kevin Townson (Carlton Cole, 92).
