Knudsen a Doubt for Bristol City Clash
Thursday, 29th Dec 2016 14:14

Left-back Jonas Knudsen is a doubt ahead of Friday night’s game against Bristol City at Portman Road having suffered a cut to his foot. Myles Kenlock will replace the Danish international if he misses out, although manager Mick McCarthy has hinted that the 20-year-old might start in any case.

“Jonas has got a cut on his instep, so we’ll see how he is,” McCarthy said. “Bearing in mind it’s right on his instep where you kick the ball, it does pose a bit of a problem. If he’s not fit Myles will play. He might play anyway yet.”

The Town boss was giving no further hints on what changes he might be considering for the game against the Robins: “I will pick the team accordingly.”

Luke Varney was left out of the 18 which lost 2-0 at home to Fulham on Boxing Day but McCarthy says the striker is OK: “Varns is fine, he’s trained really well in the last couple of days. He’s in good shape.”

Tommy Smith (back), Jonny Williams (shoulder) and Luke Hyam and Giles Coke (both knee) are still recovering after surgery, while Paul Digby (also knee) and Teddy Bishop (ankle) are also sidelined at present.

Good news but what 'long term affect will it have? There is a "Mick Out" petition started at -

every one who wants him out should sign it.

We will continue to struggle with the vastly overly regarded Skuse in the team and Chambers at right back. We need some surgery!!

Thank you Lord. Utter garbage. When you think of some of the players we've had in that position....ol Hermo as a latter day example. We've ended up with someone who would struggle to compete in League 2. What have we become? And, you lying git, you had no intention of playing anyone other than him if he hadn't hurt his foot

Hope he recovers soon. Gives Kenlock an excellent opportunity to show what he is made of. Good luck to him.

Disaster! How will we ever cope without those non productive throw ins, many of which get headed clear and actually put us on the back foot.
