Disappointing. I thought it would be a hard fought 3points because Brentford are in a similar position to us and play more open football. But with our recent form I thought we'd nick it. McC picked the team I expected, despite the moaners wanting Skuse out. As it was he had a decent game and "Dave" wasn't special when he came on. Town lacked zip today and may have been a bit complacent but Brentford were in their face. We'll need to be more up for it on Tuesday because some of the teams below have started picking up points.

Lawrence looked like he's already done enough this season to warrant a premier league place next season

1 step forward 2 back. To be fair to Brentford, they wanted it more than Town today.

A disjointed performance today, Lawrence and McGoldrick, very poor up top, while apart from Skuse, the midfield lacked sparkle. MM picked the team that most supporters would have picked, but with experience players now returning from injury and on the bench, plan B is required.

Oh no!! Don't tell me Town are returning to their January form. Today we were'nt anywhere near as good as the Leeds and Reading games. Skuse wasn't very good. Lawrence disappointing. And apart from the goal Huws never got into it. Myles Kenlock and Bart man were the only decent players. Today Brentford showed they probably deserved to win. UP THE TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At home & playing like an away team hoping for a draw. Conceding home territory so eaily is never going to get you anywhere. The midfield gains made in the Reading & Leeds games have been chucked down the drain & we are back where we were in the autumn

Did anyone recognise the name of the Referee (Scott Duncan) a familiar name to us older supporters. His teams would have beaten todays miserable performers here is my assessment as to why.
1 They played with Pride and showed they wanted to play for Ipswich Town
2 They played as if the objective was to score goals not just to stop the opposition
3 They were prepared to give maximum effort for their cause
4 They recognised their supporters and wanted to provide entertainment
5 They were not overpaid. (Nor were the supporters overcharged).
Everyone attending on Saturday deserves a refund or at least free entry into the next dire offering

Back to January form. MM playing for a draw and it's clear from this performance that the team needs complete overhaul. Thought Spence was ace and kept his winger quiet all game and made good attacking moves, perhaps he could do good job in midfield!
Chambers was very poor giving ball away in dangerous areas. Tom looked like he needed a game and really isn't a main striker. As for McGoldrick, he's an attacking midfielder so MM should have played Pitman from start. It's strange that Brentford that can find a manager that plays with style with fairly low cost team. Just shows it can be done!
Bring on Warburton in summer.
