Celina Wins Cap as Woolfenden Helps Bromley to Wembley
Saturday, 24th Mar 2018 21:17

Town’s on-loan Manchester City midfielder Bersant Celina won his ninth full cap as Kosovo beat Madagascar 1-0 in a friendly in Paris this evening.

Racing Genk’s Edon Zhegrova netted the winning goal on his international debut in the 47th minute. The Kosovans play Burkina Faso on Tuesday, also in Paris.

Elsewhere, on-loan Town defender Luke Woolfenden was in the Bromley side which secured a place in the FA Trophy final at Wembley on Sunday 20th May after beating Gateshead 4-3 on aggregate, this afternoon’s semi-final second leg in the North-East having ended in a 1-1 draw.

Fellow Blue Shane McLoughlin, who is also on loan with the Ravens, is ineligible for the FA Trophy.

Amidst all the doom at Portman Rd, there is some bright things to look forward to when we get a manager who believes in playing our own youths. I still dont get Emmanuel going out on loan and replacing him with Iorfa, makes my blood boil when i think how long he stuck with Chambers at RB,( who lets face it was a liability)! With no play-offs or relegation issues now is the time to give our own talent a run, bring back Downs as well, start prepping our players for next season! But it wont happen, he will stick with the good ol' "proper blokes"

Roll on next season, when hopefully he has gone!

well said Dissboyitfc.
Great news and achievements for Celina, Woolfenden and also Bart during the international friendlies.
No matter how hard I try to ignore the McCarthy situation though it is always there bubbling under the surface.
Emmanuel along with many other youngsters should have been played this season at some point but our manager decided otherwise. Drinnan another example.
Hopefully McCarthy will be gone sooner rather than later before the damage done by ignoring the youngsters is too great.

Well some type warriors. If we played your favourites we would be looking at league one. Until whoever is manager and given funds we will stagnate. Not Micks fault,

irishtim.. i have a question... do you believe Iorfa to be better than Emmanuel? do you think Chambers is a better Rb than Emmanuel? yet he stuck with Chambers at RB whilst playing 2 left footed CB's! That imbalance in the defence could have cost us promotion in our play off making season!

I was impressed with Woolfenden in the one (?) first team match he's featured in this season, at Crystal Palace. He played with skill, confidence and imagination. I hope this opportunity at Bromley will have helped his stamina, added to his experience, and that whoever's managing next season can get him into a new Ipswich Town defence.

Woolfenden should be in our squad not some nobody from spurs. Shows the wonker we have as manager.

Just like to remind the MM haters, that Man City chose ITFC for Celina.I would assume they took into account,MM was Manager and be the guidance they were looking for.Woolfenden went on loan with the approval of MM.No matter, let's carry on hating MM as it'll get some contributors a lot of "up-arrows".

Dissboyitfc... playing 2 left footed centerbacks isn't the end of the world, you're clutching at straws there to find a criticism. However would agree right back is a problem. Although I don't think Emmanuel is the answer. Fairly young yes but doesn't look good enough or have the potential to be good enough in my opinion.
