Zahovic Sent Home
Zahovic Sent Home
Thursday, 6th Jun 2002 08:44

Slovenia's Zlatko Zahovic has been sent home from the World Cup after his row with manager Srecko Katanec. The Benfica player had apologised for an outburst after the Spain game, however this does not seem to have calmed the situation.

In addition to the row with the manager, Zahovic is also said to have "behaved rudely" towards the Football Association of Slovenia president.

Zahovic is undoubtedly Slovenia's best player and qualification now looks less likely for Town's Amir Karic and the rest of his team-mates.

The Blues are hoping that Karic does well enough during the World Cup to get him a move away from Portman Road.

Three Japanese clubs are keeping an eye on him while his agent claims a number of sides have shown interest in the 28-year-old.
