Rowe Rejoins Lincoln on Loan
Thursday, 17th Jan 2019 17:44

Winger Danny Rowe has rejoined his former loan club Lincoln City for the remainder of the campaign.

Earlier this afternoon, Blues boss Paul Lambert revealed that Rowe and Janoi Donacien were both close to departing for stints out on loan.

The 26-year-old was with the Imps, who currently top League Two, for the second half of last season, making 13 starts and three sub appearances and scoring two goals, before an ankle injury curtailed his spell. He also won a Checkatrade Trophy winner’s medal while at Sincil Bank.

"It's nice to come back to where I was last season, the surroundings are different but it's the same people," Rowe told the Imps official site.

"The main reason I came was because I feel comfortable playing under Danny and Nicky [Cowley, manager and assistant boss], and every game is big game at the top of the league."

He added: "Anything is possible right now, all I want to do is get games games in. I have got the opportunity here and we'll see where it goes."

Rowe, who joined Town from Macclesfield in January 2017, has made four sub appearances for the Blues this season. In total, he has made two starts and appeared eight times from the bench.

The former Stockport wideman is contracted to the Blues until 2020 with the club having an option for a further year.

Good luck to Danny! Shame he's not had hardly any chance since he joined us. If we do to down to league one I can see him getting a chance. Probably not up to this standard though.

Another strange one, shown bags of potential and has an eye for goal, but has failed to deliver for some unknown reason.

Strange how his never really been given a chance under 3 different managers yet when he does play he looks decent.
Possibly bad attitude or doesn't show enough in training.

I've always liked what I've seen of Rowe, I can't work it out but clearly there is something that managers dont rate about him

Rowe has so much more to offer than Dawkins from what I witnessed on saturday.

Not a time to take a gamble on a maybe players, can imagine he's similar to Edwards', has his moments but a winger needs to be good defensively and not just the odd step over as a crowd pleaser

I don't feel he's had an equal opportunity in the team compared to other players. Scores goals for fun in the U23s and has look good in his fleeting cameos. Had we had a more competent right back he might've got more game time. Hope he does well at Lincoln.

Huge potential. If we release him, it'd be like the story of Jordan Rhodes!

When he's been given a chance he's failed to grab it all round game not good enough for the championship does very little when he's not got the ball Paul Lambert did say he must work a lot harder in training hope he goes on to prove me wrong and 3 managers.

He'll score against us next season. Mystified that he's not been given a fair chance. It's not that he isn't good enough.Times last season when he came on that it was immediately apparent he had more about him than 4 or 5 of the regular starters.A nice first touch and comfortable with the ball at his feet. It may not come back to haunt us but I'm disappointed all the same.
