Former Town midfielder Danny Sonner could come up against some of his old team-mates in the Nationwide League next season. The Northern Ireland international is currently on trial at Wolves after leaving Birmingham at the end of last month.

Sonner, 30, is available on a Bosman and will play in some of Wolves' pre-season games, hoping to impress enough to gain a contract.

The former Preussen Köln man left Town for Sheffield Wednesday at a cut-price £75,000 fee in October 1998 after a fall out with manager George Burley.

Previously this summer Sonner has been linked with Anderlecht, Preston and Norwich City.
