Holland Returns
Holland Returns

Town skipper Matt Holland has returned from his holiday and has joined up with the squad in Denmark. With speculation over his future likely to hot up over the next few weeks the Irish international admits that the Premiership holds great attractions.

Holland said: "If a move has to happen it happens, if not I'm more than happy here."

"There has been a lot of speculation and that is all part and parcel of the game these days. I have heard it all before and I don't take any notice.

"All clubs who have been relegated need to cut costs and Ipswich are no different. Titus Bramble has gone to Newcastle and Matteo Sereni has gone out on loan as the club need the finances.

"But as far as I'm aware nothing is happening with me and I'm not looking to go anywhere.

"Of course the lure of the Premiership is very strong but there are very few clubs I would leave Ipswich for.

"I love the place, my family and I love living in East Anglia and I love the club."

Despite Holland's feelings for the club and teh area the issue could be taken out of his hands. With offers for other players so far apparently unforthcoming the Blues could be forced to sell their skipper in order to balance the books.

An offer of above £7 million looks like one that in the circumstances Town couldn't turn down, even considering Bournemouth's 25% of any profit the Blues make on their £800,000 signing.

Holland was joined on his flight to Denmark by Town chairman David Sheepshanks, who had lunch with the Queen yesterday.
