The Suffolk Constabulary have kindly provided TWTD with snaps of, and info on the Municipal Stadium in Luxembourg.

The Blues face Avenir Beggen at the stadium, also known as the Stade Josy Barthel, on August 15th. Click a photo to see it in full.

The Stade Josy Barthel was built in 1930 and renovated in 1989/90. It is in a residential area near to the city centre and abuts a wide main road (Route D'Arlon) and one side street the Rue Du Stade. It has a capacity of 8,054 and is all seater.

The only seating area that is covered is the main stand which holds just over 1,100 supporters. Spectator areas are segregated by high metal fencing.

Home and away fans will have separate refreshment and toilet facilities. Ipswich have been allocated areas A and B in the ground which have a combined capacity of 2,515. If the interest is greater area C will be held in reserve. Entrance and exit for Ipswich fans will be by the Rue Du Stade.

Unlike in Milan the local police will allow coins and mobile phones into the stadium. The local police do not have a current view on hold back for Ipswich fans and in the past they have kept the home fans in the ground whilst the away fans clear.

Suffolk Constabulary will be taking a team of four police officers to Luxembourg.

Due to the large number of people due to arrive in the tiny principality, the authorities in Luxembourg have asked for information on fans' methods and dates of travel.
