Town legend Micky Stockwell further cemented his place amongst the pantheon of Town stars yesterday when he scored two goals as Colchester United beat an experienced Norwich side 3-2 in a behind-closed-doors game.

Stockwell struck in the first and 65th minute in the friendly at Norwich's Colney training ground.

The Norwich line-up included first-teamers like Darel Russell, Marc Libbra, penalty hero Daryl Sutch, Chris Llewellyn, Alex Notman and new signing Paul Heckingbottom.

Elsewhere ex-Town striker David Johnson scored for Nottinghsm Forest in a 3-1 win against Newcastle United who featured Titus Bramble in their line-up. Kieron Dyer was also involved but was substituted as he was feeling unwell.

Former keeper Richard Wright has been handed the number one shirt at Everton after joining them last week.

Ex-Town defender Gus Uhlenbeek is currently impressing on trial at Bradford who avoided liquidation earlier today.
