No Choice But to Postpone Wednesday, 4th Sep 2002 09:47 George Burley has said that Town did not even consider playing the Grimsby game scheduled for Saturday without key men Hermann Hreidarsson and Matt Holland who are on international duty. The call-up of Amir Karic to the Slovenian side allowed the game to be called off, however this has added to Town's increasing fixture pile-up. On the plus side Burley says the lack of a game will give his players some rest after a hectic week or so: "Although adding the Grimsby game to our later fixtures is not ideal, after having so many games recently, and with a very hectic schedule coming up, it is not a bad thing for a couple of players to get some extra training in and some others to recover from knocks." With no first team game until Norwich on September 15th and no reserves match until September 25th, Town are seeking to arrange a behind-closed-doors game for next week.
