Burley on Derby Draw
Burley on Derby Draw

Town manager George Burley says he was frustrated at his strikers' failure to take chances for the second game running after Sunday's draw with Norwich. Two weeks ago Town dominated against Preston without turning their advantage into goals.

Burley said: "It was very important for our fans that we didn't lose this one.

"We lacked a cutting edge up front. On a couple of occasions we dwelt too long on the ball in front of goal."

The Town manager added that Marcus Bent was withdrawn due to a twinge in his hamstring: "I just hope it's not too serious."

As for Darren Bent missing a penalty, the Town boss said: "In training Darren Bent never misses from the spot. The long delay put extra pressure on the boy."

Malky Mackay said that Norwich were unhappy with the draw after going ahead: "We are so disappointed as we thought we could hold on at the end but it just wasn't to be.

"We came here looking for the three points and to be 1-0 up with only injury time to play you've got to fancy yourselves to win it.

"I thought it [the penalty decision] was harsh on Adam [Drury] because I felt he was just in the path of the ball and couldn't really get out of the way.

"Saying that they thought our goal was a foul. We definitely aren't happy with a point as we were confident during the week that we would come here and claim all three."
