Town striker Richard Naylor has turned down an offer of a loan spell at Third Division Hull City. Naylor, a long way from the first team at Portman Road, has previously turned down moves to Peterborough and Oldham.

Town manager George Burley says that Naylor didn't feel a switch to Boothferry Park was right for him: "Richard needs first team football and we have heard from a number of clubs, but he has said he prefers to stay here for the time being.

"There are four strikers ahead of Richard who are all pushing for first team places, but he felt the Hull move wasn't quite right for him."

It is understood that Naylor is hoping that a First Division side will come in for him. Last season he had loan spells with Millwall and Barnsley.

Grimsby Town were also interested in Naylor earlier this summer.
