Advisor to Come In?
Advisor to Come In?

Reports this morning claim that Town could bring an an advisor alongside George Burley if results don't take a turn for the better soon. Town's defeat to Derby at the weekend heaped more pressure on beleaguered manager George Burley.

Names said to be in the frame for the role of advisor are former England manager Peter Taylor and ex-Town coach Stewart Houston.

Taylor is currently coaching at Peterborough while Houston recently left his job at Walsall and is expected to take up another role with George Graham in the near future.

Last season Bryan Hamilton was brought in to assist Burley, however, his contract ended in June and he left the club. He recently took a job with the Pittsburg Riverhounds and is currently scouting for them in Europe prior to moving to the States in the new year.

Our sources, however, have suggested that the board are more likely to have told the manager to improve matters by a specific date or there will be a change at the top. However, when that date might be remains unknown.

Chairman David Sheepshanks and Burley have enjoyed a good relationship over the seven years that they have been in control of the club. Should it come to it removing Burley would be the hardest decision of Sheepshanks' tenure at Town.
