Shirt Shade Gets Darker

Town chairman David Sheepshanks has confirmed that next season's home shirts will return to the traditional darker blue. Although the current shirt appeared of the usual hue when voted on, the final product was controversially of a much lighter colour.

A number of fans complained last week that the badge on the four kits put up for voting had been significantly changed with the red now missing.

However, the badge has been altered in this way on a number of times since it was changed back in 95/96. At one stage it was even cream, black and red to go with an away kit.

Sheepshanks confirmed that the new version is merely stylistic: "It is for the purpose of the shirts that the badge has been represented without the red background. It is on the advice of fashion people and we have certainly not changed it."

TWTD will bring you pictures of the four shirts as soon as they are supplied by the club, which could be as soon as today.
