Town's U19 match with Watford has been moved to Friday, November 15th with a 7pm kick-off at Portman Road to give the youngsters some experience of playing there before the FA Youth Cup game.

Town play Notts County in the third round of the U18s tournament on a date yet to be set. Two years ago they reached the semi-finals where they lost to Arsenal while they were controversially defeated by Fulham in the fifth round last year.

Last weekend The U19s lost to Norwich City in the youngsters' derby. James Ager has sent us this report.

Ipswich arrived at Colney on a sunny but cold and windy autumn morning. The team had been preparing for the local derby fixture throughout the week but in reality the game never quite lived up to expectations.

Both teams had chances to score in the first half with long shots from Bloomfield and Bowditch which were well saved by former Town keeper, Arran Lee-Barrett.

Unfortunately Ipswich fell a goal behind after 30 minutes when a number of defensive mistakes allowed a Norwich forward to poke the ball into the net. It was a disappointing first half performance from Ipswich's point of view.

Ipswich began the second half brightly and took the game to Norwich by pushing more men forward. They had numerous chances to equalise - Bowditch arrived in the penalty box on two occasions only to be foiled by last minute tackles. Bowditch also pulled a ball back for Morrow who had the chance to shoot but this, again, was foiled by good Norwich defending.

Despite a couple of further chances for the visitors the game petered out and finished with a 1-0 victory for the home side.

At the end of the game, team coach, Ian Smith, expressed his disappointment at the performance of his players in a game which failed to fulfil its potential.
