Following the recent accounts announcement, it's come as no surprise that Joe Royle is unable to make any significant moves in the transfer market. In fact, he may be limited to signing a single player on loan.

David Sheepshanks explained, "there is a little money for Joe to bring in a loan player if that is what he wants. We will do everything we can to assist him but we have to balance that carefully with what is the best for the future of Ipswich Town. We have to remember which division we are operating in and what that means financially".

"I was fully aware of the financial situation when I came here," Joe Royle said. "I will not be given any money to buy new players however well we do in the various cup competitions. That is not a moan, it is a fact.

"This is a very important match for our club and when in the Czech Republic I will just be concentrating on that. I don't plan on making any more moves for signings while I'm over there. It's UEFA Cup first and foremost and I'll be giving that my 100 per cent attention."
