So based on the calculator I have Wednesday 1st, Plymouth 2nd, us and Barnsly for 3rd or 4th depending on whether we beat Barnsley or lose. I just cannot see where Plymouth and Wednesday are going to drop points. They literally have no hard games left on paper wheras we have several. Thankfully football is not played on paper. But we definitely need some shock results to go our way to finish top 2.

It's going to be very tight with teams like Shrewsbury and Exeter City that could tip things one way or another. Same as @Kentish_Tractor - 3rd or 4th. I'll stop worrying. No I won't... Needs a lot to go our way. So ive been looking at this and we need some real upsets, and we need to win our way in from here. Nothing else but one win at a time will do

I have a predictor that has called the last four town matches exactly except it called the taming of the Shrews 3-0 instead of 2-0.The odd thing is that it called Barnsley vs. Town a draw initially but suddenly predicted a Town win. Then a couple of days later the rescheduled match was announced. It is predicting at the moment that Wednesday's wheels will fall off and Town will finish second.

So,so many twists and turns to come. Promotion rivals playing each other, teams at the bottom scrapping for survival. I genuinely think Ipswich will make the top two. But I shall be keeping my lifelong motto for supporting Ipswich. Expect the worst and you won't be disappointed.

I've been looking at the run-in from a strength of schedule perspective. I ignored Barnsley as if we lose (or maybe draw) against them I think they'd finish above. All 3 other teams have 4 home games remaining…and I assumed they'd be a “wash”…meaning that the two two spots are likely going to be decided by away form. PAFC got off to a good start, while SWFC faltered a bit (but have a points cushion to play with). If either of the, trip up away and ITFC don't (AND win vs. Barnsley) then the autos are on. Otherwise it'll be 3rd or 4th obviously..

I have us going up in 2nd (10 points behind Sheff Wed) on 96 points, ahead of Plymouth and Barnsley just on goal difference.

Well, that was depressing. Based on form, I just can't see us avoiding the playoffs. But as Kentish said above, games aren't played on paper. There will be some surprises. I just hope some of those dropped points (Lincoln, Charlton, I could go on) don't end up costing us.

I think we'll end up third or fourth...we've got a tougher run in.

I had us second see I've said last weeks don't matter who you play unless probably Forest Green will go to last 2/3 games as someone sid remember the championship and Crewe turning us over far from over

Plymouth continue to amaze me. Injuries to key players, but importantly they still have fortune on their side. Tuesday another deflected goal & the luxury of having a man advantage for a lot of the game. Luck is something we haven't had ( except the M K incident) with the farce of the fog at Oxford & a few deflected goals against us. It's 7 wins out of 9 needed & our goal difference will do the rest ( I hope )

Ever the eternal optimist, I only see us winning the league. I've also been called an idiot enough times to know that you should not to take me too seriously.

my predictor is saying that the danger team in these closing games is Peterborough who it is projecting will beat Town. This brings the battle down to the last day.

Think we will pick up a decent amount of points in the remaining games.....maybe a loss here, a couple of draws there. But we are already playing catch up and I cant see where either the top two are going to drop enough points for us to overtake them. I cant help but think we are play off bound and will meet Barnsley in the play off final......ala 2000. Just hope the outcome is the same.
hyperbrit added 14:52 - Mar 23
oh and forgot to mention Town will beat both Derby and Barnsley

The only hope we have is when one looks at Plymouth's away form - W7 D7 L5 - which is where they tend to slip up. They have tricky away games at the Shrews and a local derby. They have also conceded 9 goals in their last 3 away games. Their home form is phenomenal. However, we still have to play Barnsley, Peterborough, Wycombe, and Derby, and unless we get at least 10 points from those games it's going to be the play offs. We screwed up not long ago when our form was W1 D6 L1 out of 8 matches.

Unfortunately our dip in form has left us playing catch up and praying others f#ck up. Cant see us avoiding playoffs to be honest , but would be over the moon if we avoid it. COYB

Sheffield Wednesday P46 106pts +50 Plymouth Argyle P46 102pts +34 Barnsley P46 98pts +39 Ipswich Town P46 91pts +44 We'll lose to Derby and get Wycombed, while I don't see the others really dropping any points, but only because I'm a natural pessimist. For anyone to get 90+ and not go up automatically is a farce!
