Pulsating from start to finish and captain-for-the-day action-man scored again with a blistering header. Comeback- man Lief Davis and Wes Burns burnt up the wings each. Sunderland are no mugs but we just 4edged it in the end and deserved the three points. Ref nearly spoilt it with some questionable decisions.

Jackson never gets credit. He scored, he hassled, he ran, he passed what more can he do to find favour ?

Travis battled hard and did well. We needed his experience today.

Good game first half not so good but we made up for it in the second half most definitely

Tremendous credit has to go to Chaplin today making him captain can be daunting but it inspired him to a very passionate performance and his goal richly deserved just giving him mom over Edmundson who when fit is a very good defender and automatic choice. Travis a good and composed debut but Sarmiento looks way off being fit enough to start a game.

With Loungo heading for a scan, Travis could be our signing of the season. For his first game he was immense and ran things in midfield, I think him and Morsy will be excellent together. Taylor and Broadhead stuttered all afternoon and Edmunson was superb all afternoon Great goals for Town and so pleased for Jackson who worked his socks off as usual.

Just as an aside I'd love to see Harry Clarke start a game as striker!!!

I'm not sure what match some people were watching. Edmundson was immense. Woolfenden had a shocker.
Jackson finished one of his chances very well. Having Davis back makes a huge difference. Great run and finish from Chaplin!

Edmundson was immense. Travis worked hard on his debut, plenty of tackles and drove the ball forward. Too many misplaced passes from Taylor at the start but he grew into the game and always had forward momentum. Broadhead and Davis both short of their best. Hutchinson and Sarmiento threatened and added a much need boost of a pace in the second half. Huge work rate from Jackson paid off. Chaplin led by example.

We struggled in my view up to the point that they scored. Not unsurprisingly with the changes in centre mid and up front. It was really disappointing that the crowd were so quiet during that period ( was sat in Sir Bobby Robson upper). However a good end to the half with a great pass from Travis and a cool finish by Kayden.

Kieran’s teamtalk clearly had the desired effect and we bossed the second half with everyone stepping up and contributing. We were very lucky not to concede when Wolfy and Haladky gave away possession, however aside from that, lots of chances created with Leaf and Harry getting on the ball more and making runs. Great finish from Chappers and his second half performance made him my MOM. All the subs contributed and had an impact. The future looks bright and just loving this season.

An excellent win against a side that should finish in and around the playoffs with some quality players. First 20 minutes were a bit sloppy with some misplaced passes but we grew into the game and were the only side that looked like scoring the winner in the second half. So pleased for Jackson with the goal, he wasn't on the same wavelength as Taylor a few times but he worked hard and put it away superbly. Having Leif back is such a boost and I thought Travis was excellent and made it barely noticable that Morsy was missing

Really enjoyed the game, tense at times, sloppy at times too, but it's a pleasure to watch the forward movement and desire to attack (under McKenna) after so many years of breaking away and then turning the ball back to allow the opposition to reorganise and eventually losing the ball again).
I can't work out whether Edmundson is clumsy or the ultimate sneaky pro, as he bundled people over fairly frequently and got the yellow for a fairly innocuous one it appeared (cumulative maybe?).
Travis very good, Taylor gave 100% and really battled away despite the number of times he gave the ball away being in double figures. Broadhead just hasn't been the same player for a while now....he had a rare opportunity to drive forward from the left in the second half but for some reason laid it off but in the first couple of months of the season he'd have headed for the goal and got a shot away or created something for a teammate.
Woolfy scares the 'whats-it' out of me....I understand he's to draw the opposition in so as to create space and an overlap somewhere within our half but does he have to leave it so late to pass it? It nearly cost us, again. I love Clarke's physicality and passion, but him getting done trying to run the ball out, was fairly typical....he isn't quite quick enough it seems and does have people run past him and round the outside fairly often. I could see him being better as a right sided centre-half maybe in a three-man set-up, with more support on his outside (probably on a level with a Ben Thatcher maybe).
It was great to get the win, superb effort all around.....and Jackson too had a super game, really hassled the Sunderland backs all game, he really did put a shift in, with a really good finish too.

Not towns best performance. A lot of misplaced passes but the resilience & fightback from going behind was great to see & a tremendous complement to the whole team & subs. Against a potential top sixer we dominated the second half, deserved the victory & with performances like this every week it bodes well for the rest of the season
