McKenna Nominated For Manager of the Season
Wednesday, 3rd Apr 2024 14:32

Town boss Kieran McKenna has been nominated for the EFL Championship Manager of the Season award.

The Blues boss is short-listed alongside Daniel Farke of Leeds and Hull City’s Liam Rosenior.

The winner will be announced at the EFL’s annual awards ceremony which will be held in London on Sunday 14th April.

Perhaps surprisingly, no Town players are nominated for the division’s Player of the Season gong with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Leicester City), Crysencio Summerville (Leeds United) and Sammie Szmodics (Blackburn Rovers) those in the running.

The Goal of the Season award, in which Wes Burns must be a strong contender for his strike against Coventry, and the divisional select XIs will be announced on the night.

Reading comments from fans all over the country , there is only one winner , our very own KM.

If we are still above Leeds by April 13th, surely that would cement Kieran getting it. But as others have said here, he should get it anyway. As an aside, just realised out home goals total- almost 3 per game, absolutely brilliant achievement for a newly promoted side. PR for entertainment!

Kieron is far out and out no 1 to bring a team up and then run with the so called Premiership teams with all their millions of £££ shows how good he is, another Bobby in the making. Sir Alf, Sir Bobby the great, now Keiron , to be above the legend George Burley and John lowe is a big statement. Keiron gets my vote. Premiership here we come. UPPA TOWEN

Manager of the year, team of the year, goal of the year, CEO of the year, club of the year, supporters of the year …… all would be richly deserved.

McKenna by a country mile regardless of what happens with the rest of the season.
ITFC should clear up on all the Awards full stop. Massively overachieved in all departments. Incredible entertaining futuristic football and showing how it should be played. This is the future.
Only Mark Robins comes close, he’s a super Manager, but would have to get 6th place. He’s got to be Norwich’s next Manager.

Why Rosenoir? strange that! At this moment in time you have to say its KM, Farke is only achieving what is expected, Leeds being in the top 2 is hardly surprising is it! And with nothing being decided i feel the Nominations are too early, look at Robins, the cov boss, potentially they could get promoted and win the fa cup, now there would be a serious contender for Manager of the season, but only a contender there can only be one winner surely!

Is there a young player of the season? Omari Hutchison should be in it if there is!

I'm not much bothered about these nominations, but I agree with everyone on here. There is clearly only one manager who deserves the accolade, and he belongs to ITFC. As regards player of the year - who cares really? We have other things to think about and it is our squad that is a superb example of togetherness and organisation, without focusing on any one particular player. I wonder how that came about? Oh, yes! It must be down to the manager!
