Roeder to Watch Town
Roeder to Watch Town

West Ham manager Glenn Roeder will again watch the Blues in action tonight when they take on Reading at Portman Road. The Hammers' boss is rumoured to be interested in centre-half Thomas Gaardsøe.

Yesterday Roeder was infuriated by Reading manager Alan Pardew revealing his club's failed attempt to sign West Ham's Paolo Di Canio.

Pardew subsequently said sorry for discussing the bid in the press with Roeder commenting: "Alan has apologised to me and the club and has gone public with that. He now knows what the answer would have been and no one else would have known. Funnily enough, I am going to see Reading on Wednesday, when they play Ipswich, but I always was."

Reading will include central defender Adi Viveash in their starting line-up for the first time this season at Portman Road. He comes in because of a number of defensive absentees: Adie Williams due to a knee injury, John Mackie who is suspended and Adie Whitbread who has not recovered from a knock.
