Reserves Face Watford
Reserves Face Watford
Wednesday, 9th Apr 2003 09:28

Town's young reserve side are in action at Portman Road this evening when they face Watford (KO 7pm). With Town's squad increasingly threadbare several of them could win themselves first team places either this season or at the beginning of next year.

Alun Armstrong will be the senior member of the side as he seeks to get back to match sharpness after his recent broken wrist.

Arsenal trialist Alfie Kamara will also be in the line-up and is likely to be offered a chance to join the Town academy in the summer. Kamara, who impressed for the Town second string against West Ham recently, is a Sierra Leone-born former England U15 and he plays at either central defence or midfield. He has also had a trial at Leicester City.

Kamara's young Arsenal team-mate Ashley Probets has been offered another year with the Gunners, the full-back having done well in two reserve games for Town.

Squad: Pullen, Kamara, Chaffey, Bloomfield, Collins, Hogg, Abidallah, Westlake, Armstrong, Bowditch, Boardley, Mitchell, Peat, Flack, Nash, Atay and Reid.
