Town skipper Matt Holland is again being linked with a move to Aston Villa. The Blues' captain turned down a £4 million move to Villa Park last summer.

According to reports Graham Taylor try to get rid of a number of players in the close season to enable him to rebuild, with Holland one of his main targets.

The Irish international decided not to move to Villa last summer for a number of reasons. The contract he was offered with the Midlanders was well below the one he is on at Town while his family are settled on the Suffolk-Essex border.

Whether he would consider a move there this time around remains doubtful. A switch to a London club looks more likely with Charlton the favourites after discussions with the Town captain prior to deadline day.

Should George Burley become manager at Fulham over the summer then the former Town boss may well want to take his Ipswich captain to the Cottagers.

With the transfer market as it is the Blues may only get around £2 million for a player valued at four times that at the beginning of last summer prior to the collapse in prices.
