Town midfielder Jim Magilton is weighing up offers from three clubs in addition to Town according to a TWTD source.

Tranmere and Wigan are understood to be two of the clubs while is is likely that the other side is from the same region.

The veteran has been offered a new Portman Road deal but, with a move to the north-west ultimately his plan, other offers are being considered.

Magilton recently bought a house in Southport where he plans to settle after he has retired. Town boss Joe Royle hopes he will remain at Portman Road for another year but a lengthier contract from another club may be enough to take the Northern Irishman back up north sooner than originally planned.

Magilton started his career at Liverpool and his wife is from Merseyside.
