Icelandic sources report that Town watched young Throttur striker Hjalmar Thorarinsson in action on Monday night. The 17-year-old is the hottest prospect in Icelandic football and is interesting a number of English league sides.

Thorarinsson was in action for Throttir against Valur, a game apparently also watched by representatives from Stoke City.

The 17-year-old striker was first watched by Town scouts at last August's Nordic International U17 Tournament in Sweden.

The striker has progressed well and is currently the top scorer in the Icelandic league, rated as a better player than Eidur Gudjohnsen at a similar age.

He spent time with Liverpool when just 14 and has been under almost constant attention from British and European sides for the last year. Last week Chelsea, Leeds, Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham and Wolves all watched him in action against RKV.
