Embargo to Be Lifted

Town fully expect their transfer embargo to be lifted by an Football League board meeting today. The club exited administration last Friday and expect the return of their League 'share' which will allow Joe Royle to enter the transfer market.

Guinean international central defender Drissa Diallo is almost certain to be Town's first signing once the club receive confirmation from the League. The Blues have offered the out-of-contract 30-year-old a deal which former club Burnley appear to be unable to match.

Royle has also said he is looking for a goalkeeper with Birmingham's Ian Bennett and Everton's Paul Gerrard the favourites for the job. The Town boss has ruled out weekend reports that he is interested in Grimsby's Danny Coyne: "We haven't made any overtures in that direction."
