Town winger Ulrich Le Pen has been in talks with loan club Strasbourg about a permanent switch and admits new manager Antoine Kombouaré is doing a good job of persuading him to stay with the Alsace side.

Le Pen says he will talk with them again soon: "I met with Antoine Kombouaré last Monday. I was impressed by what he had to say, but for the moment I've not made any decision. We'll pick discussions up again in a week's time."

Strasbourg are keen to sign the 29-year-old, this week saying that Le Pen and David Kobylik are their biggest priorities over the summer. Le Pen is almost certain to have to take a pay cut to remain at Strasbourg with other players already having signed contracts reduced by up to 30%.

Should he decide to leave Strasbourg, whose divisional status is still hanging in the balance due to their recent financial problems, then he could move to Guingamp. The Brittany side have already offered him a contract which he is seriously considering.

Town still want a fee for their £1.4 million from Lorient, however in the current transfer climate he looks more likely to leave on a free transfer.

Strasbourg's pre-season begins on June 26th with a training camp organised between June 30th and July 6th and Le Pen will hope to have his future resolved before then.
