No Marcus Deal Imminent
No Marcus Deal Imminent

Marcus Bent's agent Charles Burt says that although his player is keen to get back in the Premiership, no deal is imminent. Town have admitted interest from Leicester City and another Premiership club.

Burt says Bent is keen to play at a higher level but that nothing is immediately in the pipeline: "I can confirm that Marcus Bent definitely wants to play Premiership football."

"He has scored goals everywhere he's played, and - apart from a period when his form dropped and he was out of the team - played really well for Ipswich last season.

"But it's difficult to know what anyone's worth these days. Players who were going for £15 - £20 million two years ago could be worth as little as £3 or £4 million today."

Burt says that he expects most deals this summer to be made in the weeks leading up to the end of the transfer window: "The last three weeks before the start of the new season will be when all the transfer activity happens."

Bent has been linked with a number of Premiership clubs over the last year and was close to joining West Ham prior to the end of the transfer window in January.
