David Sheepshanks has further confirmed that the deal between Town and Wimbledon for Hermann Hreidarsson: "I have spoken to their Chief Executive and can confirm Hermann Hreidarsson will be joining us will be joining us subject to a rigorous medical, which has been arranged for Thursday." Town are thought to be paying £4.1 million for the former Brentford player. His former club will receive 15% of the Town cash as part of the sell-on clause on his contract.

David Sheepshanks is not convinced that the Hassan Kachloul deal is dead quite yet. The Southampton midfielder turned down a move the to the Blues last week, but it is thought the idea of a move to Suffolk caught him by surprise. The Town chairman said: "I don't give up easily. While we won't be pursuing him perhaps he may think differently as the season goes on." Town and Southampton agreed a £2 million fee for the Moroccan.

Town reserves play Canvey Island in a friendly this evening. Town side: Salmon, J Miller, McGreal, Thetis, Brown, Reuser, Niven, Abidallah, Logan, Midgley and Friars.

Town's official website has been voted seventh best in a poll of the best Premiership and First Division sites. Town chairman David Sheepshanks said the site is "an area we are trying to improve."

The Blues Bar will no longer be open to the majority of Town fans. From this season onwards it will be open only to season ticket holders in block D of the Cobbold Stand. This will come as a disappointment to many who used the bar as their pre-match meeting place. Town chairman David Sheepshanks explained this change by saying that with 10,000 members it was impractical that this should be a 'members' bar'. Presumably Town fans will have somewhere to meet in part of the new complex when it is finished...

The work on the Churchman's development continues apace and it looks certain that there will be 2,000 extra seats for the games with Liverpool, Newcastle, Coventry and Manchester City. Town are still looking for a new sponsor for the stand.
