The Blues are currently recruiting staff in a number of areas a sign, chief executive Derek Bowden says, of the club's recovery after administration.

Town made around 18 redundancies early in year, a move which Bowden says was aimed at avoiding Deloitte and Touche having to come in: "The redundancies were made to try to prevent administration and it is a testament to how streamlined the club was that when we actually went into administration in February no further positions were made redundant.

"We are looking to rehire in positions vacated by people who left of their own volition as they were uncertain of the club's future. They are mainly in retail and catering positions where it is important to have these people to help generate revenue.

"We are also looking to take on match-day staff."

Since coming out of administration the Blues have brought in cash from 18,000 season ticket holders and sold, released or settled the contracts of a number of players.

They have also introduced the loan stock scheme, described as "successful" by Bowden, debentures and are looking at raising a figure of around £2 million from a share issue, currently planned for October.

The up to 20% of wages deferred by players and off-field staff is payable from the final Preimership parachute payment the club receive this summer.

Despite Bowden feeling the club is getting itself in better shape he does admit that they would like to see another high earner leave: "It would be good if we were to sell another player, especially at the top end of the wage scale."

Italian keeper Matteo Sereni has returned from his loan spell with Brescia and Town will hope that his £22,000-a-week wage does not hang around for too long and a buyer willing to pay cash for him is found.
