Former Town star Thomas Gaardsøe has thanked Blues' fans for their support during his time at the club. The Dane was given a rapturous reception by his old fans at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

The ex-AaB player was quick to pay tribute after the game: "The Ipswich supporters were unbelievable and the way they treated me was brilliant but very emotional. They are really special to me.

"Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to go to them and show my thanks properly so I would like to do that now. Thank you."

Gaardsøe scored the first goal in West Brom's 4-1 defeat of the Blues.
