Town manager Joe Royle is waiting to hear back from a club regarding a loan signing. The Blues' boss is keen to add to his squad due to a lengthy Portman Road injury list.

Royle says he has spoken to clubs regarding players with his preferred target thought to be an international: “I've enquired about a couple of players and one I'm waiting for a reply on.

"Suffice to say I'm negotiating at the moment with the club and player concerned and am hoping for the best, but if I'm unsuccessful then I'll turn elsewhere."

One player Royle certainly isn't targeting is Arsenal reserve defender Stathis Tavlaridis who was linked with the Blues this morning.

The 23-year-old Greek is known to Royle but is not someone he is looking to sign: “He's a good player, he was at Pompey on loan last year and played in Arsenal's reserves down here a few weeks ago. But he's not one I have enquired about.”
