Marshall on Loan at Dons

Unwanted Town keeper Andy Marshall is going on a month's loan to Wimbledon. The 28-year-old was offered a free transfer by Town in May but so far there has been no serious interest in the former England U21 international whose contract is up next summer.

Town boss Joe Royle praised Marshall's attitude since being frozen out at Town, telling the club site: "Andy has been a model professional in the way he has gone about things this season.

"He obviously wants first-team football and hopefully the loan move to Wimbledon will work out well for him and get him back in the spotlight."

Wimbledon, managed by goalkeeper and former Suffolk headmaster Stuart Murdoch, recently lost keepers Paul Heald through injury and Lee Worgan due to suspension while Steve Banks has been sidelined for some while.

Marshall looks likely to make his debut in the Dons' game against Gillingham on Saturday.
