Ex-Blue Frank Yallop's San Jose Earthquakes put Town's recent comeback antics to shame on Sunday, when they came from four goals behind to beat the LA Galaxy and reach the Major League Soccer Western Conference Final.

US magazine Sports Illustrated called it the "greatest game in Major League Soccer history" as Yallop's side, already two goals down from last week's first leg in Los Angeles, proceeded to concede two more within the first 13 minutes of the second match, putting them four behind.

Amazingly the Earthquakes stormed back, scoring five goals without reply including a last minute equaliser from Chris Roner which took the game into extra-time.

A Rodrigo Faria goal six minutes into 'overtime' completed the comeback. Jeff Agoos, Landon Donovan and Jamil Walker were the other scorers.

Yallop, linked with the job of Canada national coach, was understandably pleased with his side's resiliance: "I told the guys all week that we've had a lot of great games here, some multiple-goal games.

"I've said all along, I don't care what kind of slump we're in, I believe in the guys in the locker room."

"The good thing was that it was early. If they'd scored in the 75th minute to make it 2-0 (4-0 on aggregate), we're done.

"We had a lot of time to get the goals back, and I said to the guys, we can score goals. All week practicing we believed in it, and if you believe enough you can do it."
