Two first half goals gave Town's second string a win against Arsenal at Barnet's Underhill on Monday night. Sam Morrow and Dean Bowditch netted for Steve McCall's men as the Blues ran out 2-0 victors.

Town went ahead in the fifth minute when captain Scott Mitchell crossed and Northern Irish U19 international Morrow headed into the net.

Jerome Sobers, on trial from Ryman League side Ford United, had a lively game, picking up a yellow card for a foul on Ryan Smith which caused the Arsenal man to leave the field on a stretcher.

The 17-year-old, who was also involved in the U19 game against Southampton at the weekend, played an integral part in Town's second goal.

The Essex-born player, described as "a towering centre-half who is very comfortable with the ball" by the Ford United website, played a fine pass through for Dean Bowditch on 25, the England U19 striker beating the keeper for Town's second goal.

Both sides were essentially academy teams with only Georges Santos, Lewis Price and Arsenal stopper Stuart Taylor not still in their teens.

Town: Price, Mitchell, Barron (Krause 89) Sobers, Santos, Collins, Flack (Smith 86) Kamara, Boardley, Morrow (Hammond 85) Bowditch.
