Police are looking into a scuffle involving players in the tunnel after yesterday's game between Town and West Brom. It is understood that a Town player reacted to comments made by a West Brom player as the teams left the field.

A police spokesman said: "The police force will speak to people in the tunnel and speak to the stewards and players to find out exactly what happened. If a complain is made we will investigate it."

Town's media manager Terry Baxter said: "We are aware there was a disagreement between two players in the tunnel immediately following the match against West Bromwich Albion.

"This argument was controlled by the club stewards at that time. The police have subsequently been informed of the incident, we have nothing more to say at this time."
