Out-of-favour striker Alun Armstrong says he expects to leave Portman Road when his contract is up in the summer. Armstrong has rarely been involved with Town this season, partly due to injuries and a spell on loan at Bradford City.

The ex-Stockport man told the club site: "It looks as though I will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

"I don't want to leave. I have really enjoyed my time here and my wife and family are settled in the area but I don't seem to fit in with the manager's plans.

"Football is all about opinions and ultimately, it's the manager's opinion that counts.

"That's part of the game and I have to get on with it but at the moment, I haven't got a clue where I will be next season. I don't think it will be here, though."

Armstrong joined Town for £500,000 from Middlesbrough in December 2000, making his debut as a sub in the Blues' 1-0 win at Anfield, and scoring his first goal in the 3-1 against Southampton a week later.
