Naylor Set for New Deal Monday, 17th May 2004 09:56 Long-serving defender or striker Richard Naylor is set to be offered a new Town contract at the end of the season. Naylor is one of a number of first-team players whose current deals are up at the end of June. Manager Joe Royle has high praise for the Leeds-born player: "While no one at the club has been promised a new contract for next season, I would be astounded if Richard did not get one. "He showed again on Saturday how important he is in that dual role for us. "What a man. Talk about Mr Ipswich — he would do anything for this club. "Our little slump ended when he played along with Matt Elliott on his debut at Walsall and got us out of a jam. I won't forget that. We went from losing three to winning three in a row." Royle has already indicated that Jermaine Wright will get a new deal, while Jim Magilton and Fabian Wilnis have both said they are keen to extend their stays in Suffolk.
