Town boss Joe Royle said his side need to work on goalscoring after they were defeated 2-0 by Danish side AaB. The Blues have scored just two goals in their pre-season programme so far, both in last week's game at Peterborough United.

Royle said: "Once again we were a bit toothless and that is not so much a worry as a slight concern.

"We need to work on being a bit more potent and concise around goal. We didn't really make many opportunities and didn't cause them the problems I wanted us to.

"We missed Kevin Horlock in the second half but there were some positives in the first half. We defended well and their goal was a bit fortunate.

"Prior to that goal we were quite comfortable but in the second half their superior fitness at this stage took over and they caught us."

The Town squad return from Denmark this evening. Keeper Kelvin Davis will be assessed ahead of the friendly at Oxford on Tuesday after picking up a minor back problem in the warm-up at Aalborg.
