Chairman David Sheepshanks has revealed that Canadian trialist Sandro Grande has been offered a deal with the Blues after impressing in his recent spell at the club. However, red tape is holding up him signing, while Canadian youngster Jaime Peters is facing similar problems.

Grande has left Montreal Impact who play in the US A-League but chairman David Sheepshanks says that as things stand the Blues won't be able to sign him until January: "We are in discussion with the FA over the actual wording of the regulations regarding players who have been released from their contract, such as Sandro has by Montreal Impact."

The 27-year-old is currently a free agent, however, the FA argue that he cannot join another club outside the transfer window because he was with the Impact earlier in the season.

As reported by TWTD last month, Peters looks unlikely to join a UK side until after his 18th birthday on May 4th. The winger doesn't have an EU passport and requires a working holidaymaker visa which he can't get until he is 18.

Chairman Sheepshanks says the club are looking to try and find a way around this stumbling block: "The FA's interpretation of the rule appears to be that he would not be able to play until May 4th when he turns 18. But we are still working on it."

Peters had a trial with the Blues in the summer with Town keen to add him to their Academy ranks. The former Kaiserslautern man had already arranged trials at Derby, Millwall and Manchester United and as yet has made no decision on where his future might lie. Chelsea are also now reported to have shown an interest.

If he does decide on Town, a club recommended to him by national captain Jason De Vos and coach Frank Yallop, he could spend time training with the Academy before he finally signs.
