No Injury Worries
No Injury Worries

The Blues have no injury worries ahead of Saturday's sell-out home game with Leeds United. Town manager Joe Royle wants his side to keep up the pressure on league leaders Wigan.

Royle will probably name the same side which beat Burnley 2-0 last Saturday at Turf Moor. The Blues will be seeking to take their unbeaten run to 11 games and stretch their undefeated home record to 13 matches.

Town are expecting a capacity crowd of around 30,000 and Royle is looking for a display worthy of a big game atmosphere: "I want the team to put in a performance to match the occasion.

"We have been here before, where we have set ourselves up and maybe not quite delivered, but I hope it will be different this week.

"The players have done really well but we need to keep to going. We are second and have got closer to the leaders, Wigan, but I want is to be closer still. We must stay in touch with them."

Royle had Leeds watched in their win against Preston and received a glowing report: "They played particularly well and I expect the will use a similar system against us; packing the midfield."

The game sees a return to Portman Road for Jermaine Wright who moved to Elland Road on a free transfer in the summer. Royle was keen to keep Wright with the Blues, but says the recruitment of Kevin Horlock has lessened the impact of his departure: "We saw enough of Jamma in his time with us to know he is one of the best midfielder players around at this level, even if Kevin Horlock's terrific form means we have not missed him."

Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell has had good news regarding midfielder Sean Gregan, who is expected to be fit after being caught in a heavy challenge to his shin in the 4-2 victory over his former club Preston last weekend.

Blackwell says the 30-year-old did well to complete the match: "Sean took a hell of a knock on his leg early on - it's black and blue - we didn't think he'd last the game but that's the sort of player Sean Gregan can be."

Defender Stephen Crainey will miss out due to a groin injury, while John Oster has joined on loan from Sunderland. The Welshman gave the Town defence a torrid time for the Black Cats in the Blues' 3-2 defeat at the Stadium of Light last season.

Striker David Healy netted twice on his debut against former club Preston having signed for £600,000.

Saturday's referee is Premiership official Alan Wiley from Burntwood. So far this season he has shown 25 yellow and two red cards in 11 games. Wiley last refereed Town in the 2-0 defeat at Arsenal in April 2002.

Squad: Bent, Bowditch, Collins, Couñago, Davis, De Vos, Diallo , Horlock, Kuqi, Magilton, Miller, Naylor, Price, Richards, Westlake, Wilnis.
