Youths Draw Portsmouth
Thursday, 18th Nov 2004 17:13

Town's youngsters have drawn Portsmouth at home in the third round of the FA Youth Cup. The rules of the U18 competition state that games must be played on the club's main pitch.

Last season the Blues beat Leeds at Elland Road after extra-time in round three before going out to Sunderland in round four after a 2-1 defeat at a snowy Portman Road.

Central defender Aidan Collins is the only player with first team experience eligible to play in this season's competition, although Shane Supple, a regular substitute at senior level, will probably be in goal.

Irish striker Billy Clarke, who has made a great deal of progress this season, is also likely to be involved. No date has yet been fixed for the game but it must be played prior to December 18th.
