New Town loan signing James Scowcroft says he will be out to earn himself a long-term deal with the Blues during his loan spell back at the club. Scowcroft rejoined the Blues earlier today and trained with the Town squad this morning.

The former England U21 international told the club site that winning a permanent contract is his target during the remainder of the season: "That has to be my aim. If everything goes well I'd like to make the move a long-term one.

"I'm here until the end of the season and hopefully I can win a contract, but at the moment I'm concentrating on taking it one game at a time."

There has been a massive turnover in playing staff since Scowcroft left in 2001 and he says he has already noticed changes: "There are a few familiar faces from my time here before, but I've been away nearly four years and the place has certainly changed a lot since then - both at the training ground and at the stadium."

The striker says he probably won't play for the Foxes again: "It's a funny time for me because I have never been in this situation before; where I don't know where my future lies.

"There is a new manager at the club now and there are plenty of comings and goings, but it looks as though I have played my last game for Leicester.

"My family are still based in the Midlands though, so I will be doing a lot of travelling over the next three months.

"We can't all move back down here again until I know whether it's a permanent move or not."

Scowcroft is expected to make his second Town debut at Deepdale on Friday.
