Town's reserves drew 0-0 with Norwich at Carrow Road on Wednesday night. Strike pair James Scowcroft and Darryl Knights both went close to scoring in a game the Blues probably deserved to win.

Scowcroft and central defender Aidan Collins both had efforts cleared off the line, while Knights went close in the early stages.

Winger Dean McDonald was again impressive but missed a decent chance late on. McDonald is on a short-term deal designed to give him time to prove himself to the Town management.

Guinean international defender Drissa Diallo played the full 90 minutes ahead of this weekend's crucial home game with Crewe. With both David Unsworth and Fabian Wilnis injury doubts, the former Burnley man could well be a starter against the Railwaymen.

The draw takes the reserves off the bottom of the FA Premier Reserves League (South) on goal difference from Portsmouth.

Steve McCall's side play their penultimate fixture at Southampton on Tuesday. The Saints play their reserve games at their Staplewood training ground and report that the Town game is a 2.30pm kick-off.

The second string complete their season with a re-arranged bottom of the table decider at Portsmouth on Tuesday, May 10th.

Reserves: Supple, Diallo, Richards, Manning (Trotter 73), Casement, Collins, McDonald, Juan, Scowcroft, Knights (Haynes 84), Craig. Unused: Trotter, Moore, Lordan.
