Keeper Kelvin Davis is having talks with Sunderland today regarding his proposed move to the Black Cats. Chairman David Sheepshanks has already spoken to his Sunderland counterpart Bob Murray about the former England U21 international's fee, thought to be somewhere approaching £1 million.

Davis and Tommy Miller, who has held talks with Leeds, are both expected to join the newly-promoted Wearsiders, however, Mick McCarthy is expected to miss out on striker Darren Bent who is expected to join Charlton.

West Ham are the latest club to be linked with Shefki Kuqi, Blackburn and Sunderland also having been mentioned in connection with the Finnish international in recent weeks.

Elsewhere, former Blue Danny Sonner has joined Port Vale on a free transfer as has ex-loanee Tony Dinning who has left Bristol City to sign on at Vale Park.
