No Hammers Move for Davis Thursday, 9th Jun 2005 12:16 West Ham interest in free agents Roy Carroll and Fabien Barthez would seem to kill any hopes Kelvin Davis had of moving to the Hammers. Boss Alan Pardew was widely reported to be keen to bring Davis to Upton Park, matching the fee the Blues agreed with Sunderland for the 28-year-old keeper. However, it seems he has turned his attentions to Barthez, banned from French football for six months for spitting at a referee, and Carroll, who was recently released by Manchester United. Although either of the former Red Devils would command far higher wages than Davis, the overall package would equate to much less with Town after around £1 million for the former England U21 international's services. Davis, who was understood to favour a switch to a club in the south, has insisted his move to Sunderland is far from dead and, with no other parties interested, Wearside could well be the stopper's destination after all.
